Enzyme Dao Dietary management of fibromyalgia caused by DAO deficiency

Contains ENZYME DAO (Diamine Oxidase). It also contains magnesium that acts as an adjunct in the dietary management of fibromyalgia caused by DAO deficiency. The active ingredient is a Novel Food according to EU Regulation 2015/2283. It works by metabolizing the histamine ingested in the diet, preventing its accumulation in the blood and preventing the appearance of fibromyalgia, muscle pain and contractures, and osteopathic pain. Restores optimal levels of DAO activity thanks to its structural and functional equivalence with human DAO, preventing the absorption of histamine. The DAO enzyme containing fibroDAO® has an enzyme activity of> 0.41 mU per capsule (> 20,000 HDU).

What is DAO?

DAO is the main enzyme in the metabolism of ingested histamine. It is mainly located in the intestinal epithelium, an area where it degrades the histamine ingested in the diet, preventing its passage into the blood.

What is histamine?

Histamine is a vital molecule, a transmitter that belongs to the so-called biogenic amines and that is present in many foods naturally, as well as inside our cells. Normally, the intake of histamine contained in food does not cause any type of problem, since it is rapidly processed and metabolized by the enzyme DAO.

What is the DAO deficit?

We speak of a DAO deficiency in the case of a deficiency in the activity of the DAO enzyme or when there is an unbalanced ratio between histamine ingested with food and the ability to metabolize it by said enzyme. Due to this, histamine is not sufficiently metabolized or degraded, passing into the bloodstream and triggering the different symptoms.

The usual symptoms when there is a DAO deficiency are:

How does fibroDAO® work?

The DiAmino Oxidase (DAO) in fibroDAO® complements the body's own enzyme, which is responsible for metabolizing histamine. Taking a fibroDAO® capsule before each meal increases the amount of DAO in the small intestine and therefore the ability to break down histamine.

This accelerates the processing in the digestive tract of histamine present in food, which is the trigger for symptoms. The DAO enzyme contained in fibroDAO® acts only in the small intestine, it is not absorbed and has no systemic activity, being considered a safe product with no adverse effects.

What does fibroDAO® contain?

2 white / beige gastro-resistant tablets of DAO released into the intestine. 2 purple immediate-release tablets with magnesium.

How to use fibroDAO®?

Take 1 capsule with a little water 20 minutes before main meals (3 times a day). The capsule must be swallowed whole, if you cannot swallow the capsule whole, you can open it and swallow the tablets inside separately, swallowing them whole without chewing, splitting or breaking. If you cannot take magnesium (purple tablets) you can open the capsule and remove the corresponding tablets.

Conservation

fibroDAO® contains DAO, a thermolabile enzyme (sensitive to temperature), and it is advisable to keep it away from heat sources. If it is consumed according to the recommended daily intake dose, it does not require special preservation, but if it is exceptionally consumed sporadically and stored for a long time, it is advisable to keep it in a refrigerator.

Bulking agents: microcrystalline cellulose and hydroxypropyl cellulose; magnesium oxide (magnesium); potato starch; coating agents: ethylcellulose and hydroxypropylmethylcellulose; pig kidney protein extract with 7% diamine oxidase (DAO), rice starch; stabilizers: magnesium salts of fatty acids, sodium alginate and stearic acid; medium chain triglycerides and oleic acid; coating agent: dicalcium phosphate; apple concentrate, blackcurrant and radish, spirulina and apple. Vegetable capsule: hydroxypropylmethylcellulose.
