Historically, Sansalo Indias AE has been valued for its relaxing, aroma-fixing properties and for its own perfume.
Despite its similar name, it should not be confused with Australian Sandalwood, another different botanical species, with completely different properties.
The essential oil of Indian Sandalwood is extracted by distillation of the wood. It is pale yellow in color, quite viscous and its perfume is woody.
It is mainly known for its relaxing effect, and for its woody smell, widely used in perfumery, soap and cosmetics, for its perfume, as a scent fixer, and as a substitute for Australian Sandalwood (Santalum spicatum), for being much cheaper.
100% pure essential oil of Amyris balsamifera (QT. Valerianol) from Haiti, obtained from wood.
